THE BREST BRANCH of BELINTERTRANS Forwarding Republican Unitary Enterprise is an official forwarder under the Belarusian Railway, which has been successfully operating in the transport services market since 1992.

The Brest Branch renders a wide range of services in the field of cargo forwarding by railway throughout CIS member-states, Baltic countries, West Europe, Asian and Pacific Region.

• Forwarding services and organization of international transportation by railway transport, subject to freight payments made for the entire journey according to the most beneficial tariffs;
• Organization of combined transportation of cargo from/to the Western European countries through Terespol/Brest frontier points (motor vehicle – freight car/container);
• Supply of empty refrigerator units and box cars by 1520 mm gauge to Malasheviche PKP Cargo Station, for loading of imported goods;
• Supply of freight cars and large-capacity containers belonging to the Belarusian Railway;
• Organization of safeguarding and convoy of cargo throughout the entire journey by special subdivision, subject to allocation and equipping a special heated box car;
• Organization of works at the Brest railway junction: transshipping of cargo from motor vehicles to the railway transport; transshipping of cargo from 1435 mm gauge cars to 1520 gauge cars; customs clearance and surveyor’s control of such transshipped cargo.

The Brest Branch of BELINTERTRANS Unitary Enterprise ensures profitable, quick and reliable cargo delivery by railway transport from the West European countries to Mongolia and China and back, by the Mongolian Vector container train.

The Mongolian Vector container train has started running along Brest – Ulan Bator route since March 2002. In May 2007, the 124th train departed from Brest. At present the route has been extended as far as the port Tyantsin (China) through Zamyn Ude/Erlyan frontier port.

The Mongolian Vector project is an alternative to sea shipping of container cargo traffic from Western Europe to Mongolia through Chinese ports. The time of the Mongolian Vector train running in this direction according to the schedule agreed with the Russian Railways makes from 10 to 12 days, which is almost 3 times faster that by seaway. This transportation alternative is profitable by its cost and time.

Containers to be included into the train are accumulated and stores at Brest-Severny terminal. This is one of the main advantages of the project. Containers are delivered to Brest both by railway and by motor vehicles. Exact dates for the train departure, i.e. on the 15th and 30th day of each month, have been fixed. A through rate has been developed by the project participants. All this creates advantageous conditions for the transmitter from Western Europe and is a decisive factor in the competition with other kinds of transport.
